ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS – New Jersey First Lady Mary Pat Christie, who chairs the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund, will be in the borough tomorrow afternoon for the opening of the Affordable Housing Alliance’s Housing Recovery Resource Center.
Christie is expected at 3 p.m. at the new center, located at 171 First Ave. Along with marking the new center’s opening,  Christie,  alliance representatives and local officials will show the alliance’s new Winnebago motor home that will serve as a mobile office.
The housing recovery resource center will provide renters and homeowners in Monmouth and Ocean counties with housing counseling services.
In May, the relief fund announced it was awarding $600,000 to support the Affordable Housing Alliance.
The Affordable Housing Alliance is a not-for-profit community development organization established in 1991 to assist in housing needs.
The Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund is a private charitable organization that as to date has distributed almost $34 million to more than 100 not-for-profits active in Sandy recovery efforts.
