Members of the Eastern Monmouth Chamber of Commerce set  up their booth at the 2013Wells Fargo RiverFest in Marine Park, Red Bank, this weekend.

RED BANK – The Garden State’s largest free outdoor food and music festival opens the summer season tonight, May 31, and continues through June 1 and 2, as The Wells Fargo RiverFest 2013 returns to Marine Park.
Wells Fargo has returned as title sponsor and Ford as presenting sponsor. RiverFest will be held at Marine Park, rain or shine. The hours are: 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, May 31; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 1; and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 2.

Event-goers will be able to choose from 21-area restaurants and caterers serving more than 100 dishes, from old favorites to new gourmet creations. Visitors can also meander through the festival’s many interactive exhibits and amusements or settle on the hillside for a musical alfresco feast.
Over the three days, RiverFest will feature favorite local and regional musicians who will take centerstage at the heart of the festival. This year’s line‐up will include explosive talents such as JoBonanno & The Godsons of Soul, Motor City Revue, Brian Kirk & The Jirks and The Jazz Lobsters, who will deliver top performances and have the crowd on their feet long into the evening.
This year, M&S Waste Services, an official sponsor of RiverFest, will assist the organizing committee in creating a ‘zero‐waste’ event. All vendors and participants will be encouraged to recycle. Recycling containers (for food, oil, plastic, cardboard and more) will be provided by M&S Waste Services, a company local to the Red Bank community.
Rated by Life Magazine as a top 100 event in the United States, RiverFest began in 1980 as a festival celebrating local restaurants in Red Bank by restaurant owners Danny Murphy and Rick Bott. As an instant hit, due to the combination of great food, music and location, the event has grown stronger and better every year.
“After a 10 year hiatus, in 2011, RiverFest was welcomed back to Marine Park in Red Bank and, with the enthusiasm and support of local restaurants, musicians and event attendees, proved to be a popular and successful event as ever,” said Murphy, owner of Danny’s Grill and Wine Bar and 2013 RiverFest organizer.
Wells Fargo’s Southern NJ Regional President, Brenda Ross‐Dulan, said, “Wells Fargo’s RiverFest provides family and friends with an amazing opportunity to listen to great music and eat delicious foods. It also brings thousands of people to the Red Bank area, which is great for the local economy. We are proud to be a sponsor of this Monmouth County tradition.”
The Wells Fargo RiverFest 2013 is organized by the Eastern Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with This Is It! Productions.
