Atlantic Highlands
The new home of the Atlantic Highlands Library at Borough Hall on First Avenue will be officially dedicated on Thursday, April 26 at 6 p.m., by borough officials, the Board of Chosen Freeholders, and library staff.
The newly-renovated location in Borough Hall offers the Library more space, including separate children’s and youth sections, and an activity room for programs.
The $5 million renovation of Borough Hall began in March 2010, and was completed in December 2011. During the renovation, the Library moved to temporary quarters at 48 Avenue C.
The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders will help dedicate the Library, prior to their official public meeting at Borough Hall at 7 p.m.
Middletown
The Middletown Public Library, 55 New Monmouth Rd., will hold a free hands-on workshop, “Job Search Skills for the Age 40+ Worker” at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 25.
Job search expert Nancy Anderson will explain the most common mistakes that job seekers over age 40 make, and will teach how to make the most of recent changes in the job search process. Rumson
The First Presbyterian Church of Rumson, East River Rd. and Park Ave., will host “Spring Renewal: A Healthy Body, Healthy Earth Fair 12 – 6 p.m. Saturday, Apr. 21.
Activities will include a garden tour, a green smoothie demonstration, yoga and mindfulness workshop and a green cleaning presentation. At 6 p.m. there will be a screening of the documentary Planeat, about the search for a diet that is healthy and good for the environment. A plant-based dinner will be served.

Sandy Hook
The Marine Academy of Science and Technology, MAST, will host its eighth annual silent art auction on Tuesday, Apr. 24, 6 – 8 p.m. at the MAST building. Freshman students will showcase their marine-themed artwork. Proceeds from sales will benefit the class of 2015. Doors open at 6 p.m. and silent bidding will begin immediately.

Animal advocacy organization Patrick’s Posse will host the 2nd Animal Advocacy & Awareness Accord at the Monmouth County Library, Eastern Branch, 1001 Highway 35, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m on Saturday, Apr. 28,. and 1- 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Apr. 29.
Presenters include Captain Rick Yocum of the New Jersey SPCA and Rachel Hirschfeld, Esq., a nationally renowned expert in estate planning and the preeminent authority on
continuing protection of all animals.
