All Invited to 70th Anniversary of VE Day Commemoration

World War II was the most violent armed conflict in the history of mankind. Historians today consider the war the most significant event of the 20th Century.
More than a half century now separates us from that conflict and time is exacting it toll on our nation’s collective memory of this struggle and its worldwide implications.
To commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day, the day Nazi Germany surrendered to the Allies ending World War II in Europe, the Info Age Science History Center and the World War II Studies Institute will conduct a program on Friday, May 8 at the Info Age Science Center, Wall Township, to honor the veterans of the war in Europe.
The program will start at 9:30 am and will feature NJ Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno, NJ Adjutant General Brigadier General Michael Cunniff, Monmouth County Freeholder John Curley, NJ World War II Book Club President John McLaughlin, and World War II Tuskegee Airmen veteran Reverend Milton Holmes as guest speakers.
Actual veterans of the European Theater of Operations will be recognized for their service.
Info Age and the World War II Institute invite all within the community to come and pay tribute to those of the “greatest generation” who will be present.
The program is free and will give everyone a chance to reach out and touch living history.
