Lorraine Ayres, 93, formerly of Little Silver, died on Wednesday, May 11 at Chapin Hill Nursing Home in Red Bank. She had been a resident of Little Silver for over 64 years. She was retired from the Little Silver Public Library after having worked there for over 40 years, after which she continued to volunteer. She served in the U. S. Navy during World War II as a link trainer instructor. She was a member and active leader of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Red Bank.

She was predeceased by her brother, Lyle. She is survived by her brother, Richard Bjelland and his wife JoAnn of Portland, Oregon; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Adria of Little Silver and Robert and Carol of Monmouth, Oregon; a daughter, Linda Ayres of Middletown; and five grandchildren, Courtney, Patrick, Liam, Katie and Kayla and her husband Casey.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 27 at 2 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Red Bank. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 150 River Road, Red Bank N.J., 07701.
