Bacigalupi, Marie Josephine, Age: 94, Little Silver

745

Marie Josephine Bacigalupi, 94, of Little Silver, left us peacefully on Monday, September 25. Beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Marie had a sharp wit, was full of fun, and made everyone feel special and important and most of all, loved.

As a young woman, she worked at Fort Hancock on Sandy Hook, at The Bendix Corporation during World War II and then she worked over 30 years at JCP&L, retiring in 1983. Almost as much as her large family, she loved cooking, gardening, reading, watching the news and sports, the beach, her house in Florida, fireworks, playing in the snow and all of her dogs.

She was predeceased by her parents, Josephine and John Bacigalupi Sr.; and brothers, John Jr., Charles and Lawrence; and her best friends, Lee Hawkins and Barbara Turner. She is survived by her brother, Joseph (Carolyn); and too many nieces and nephews to list, all of whom loved her dearly and will miss her greatly.

Marie, known as Tootie by all of her family and close friends, was born on February 3, 1923 in Park Ridge, and then lived in Cranford before settling in Little Silver in the early 1940s.

John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements. Please visit Marie’s memorial website available at www.johnedayfuneralhome.com.
