FREEHOLD – The Beachwood man who admitted to breaking into a series of homes on Middletown’s Navesink River Road, including rock star Jon Bon Jovi’s, and stealing hundreds of thousands dollars worth of items, was sentenced to five years in state prison.
Nicholas Tracy, 22, was sentenced on Oct. 12 in Superior Court for the three burglaries in the exclusive neighborhood in 2011 on March 14, April 1 and April 3, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
During each burglary, Tracy had made his way into the homes, stealing more than $300,000 worth of personal items, mostly jewelry, according to a statement released by Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.
While still investigating the initial three burglaries, Middletown police responded to a report of another break-in on April 13, 2011 and found Tracy trying to rob that residence, according to the prosecutor. The investigation led to police recovering some of the stolen items.
Tracy pleaded guilty on Sept. 4 to three counts of theft, each a second-degree crime, and one count of burglary, a third-degree offense, the prosecutor said.
