Cain, Margaret F. Age: 85 Holmdel

491

Margaret F. Cain, 85, known as Peggy, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Arnold Walter Nursing Home in Holmdel, New Jersey. She was born Margaret F. Fowler on January 17, 1930 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Raised in Brooklyn and living there most of her life, Peggy was pure sass. In 1978, she and her family settled in Gilbert, Pa. Peggy also lived in Bennington, Vt., for about 10 years, before settling in New Jersey in 2012. But no matter where she was, she was always a Brooklyn girl.

Peggy had a great love for ice skating. She enjoyed ice skating with family and friends in her younger days, and loved watching it on television and her DVD collection. Ice skating was definitely one of Peggy’s passions. She loved music and would never stop dancing. And don’t call her on Tuesday nights, because that’s when NCIS is on. Peggy’s family also described her as being extremely organized, which was greatly seen in her love for making lists, and then lists of lists. She was happiest when family and friends came to visit.

She was predeceased by her parents, John William and Margaret (Moran) Fowler; her beloved husband, Peter T. Cain; and her siblings, John Fowler, Catherine Moreno and Mary Sheehan. Peggy is survived by her loving children, Catherine Walters and her husband Matthew of Keyport, James Cain of Saylorsburg, Pa., and Patricia Cain of Whitehall, Pa.; her dear sister, Regina McPartland of Florida; and her cherished grandchildren, Phil Pologruto, Carina Pologruto and Nikki Cain. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Hazlet. In respect of Peggy’s wishes, she will be privately cremated. A mass will be held at her church, OLPH in Brooklyn, in the coming weeks. For information, directions or to send condolences to the family, please visit www.shorepointfh.com.
