Ciambrone, Frederick, Age: 80, Monmouth Beach

Frederick “Freddie” Ciambrone, 80, of Monmouth Beach, passed away on Saturday, December 24 in Monmouth Beach. Freddie was born on June 16, 1936 in Red Bank, the son of Valentine and Teresa Ciambrone. He was raised in Rumson and met the love of his life, Carol Anderson at Rumson High School. Freddie and Carol graduated from Rumson High in 1955, and took over the family business, Val’s Tavern, a Rumson staple. Fred ran Val’s with Carol and his children (and grandchildren) by his side for over 50 years.

Fred prided himself on being a jokester and was always quick with a comeback. He loved to play jokes on his grandchildren and great-children and was known to them as the “Swiper.” Fred’s happy place was the beach. You could find him on the Jersey shore in the summer, and during his annual trip to Hilton Head, soaking in the rays and getting the best tan ever.

Fred loved his wife, children and grandchildren more than life itself. He was a wonderful man, inside and out, and always had a smile on his face. He is already greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

Fred was predeceased by his son, Freddie Ciambrone. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; his children, Deborah Ganguzza and her husband Angelo of Boynton Beach, Florida, David Ciambrone of Boynton Beach, Florida, Carol Miles and her husband Kevin of Middletown and Jennifer Crow and her husband Billy of Rumson; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Ciambrone-Wilson of Leonardo; 11 grandchildren: Ashleigh, Danny, Kiera, AJ, Drew, Connor, Devin, Jack, Matthew, Thomas and Taylor; and six great-grandchildren, Isabella, Juliette, Justin, Maximus, Skyler and Storm.

The family is planning a memorial service to be held on March 23 with more details to follow.
