It can be difficult for disabled veterans to get the help they need to access the benefits and services they are entitled to. One way to improve the processing time was to put a Mobile Service Office (MSO) on the road. This “office on wheels” makes it easier to get to where veterans live and increases the accessibility to benefits and services because the MSO is manned by a Veteran Service Officer who has completed numerous training programs in veterans’ affairs and helps guide and educate disabled veterans and their families when they process a claim for benefits.
The Mobile Service Office made a visit to Kensington Court Assisted Living in Tinton Falls and several veterans showed up to get assistance. The distinctive-looking and well equipped office on wheels was made possible through a $2 million dollar pledge from the Harley-Davidson Foundation and is the most extensive outreach effort in the history of the Disabled American Veterans because the MSO provides assistance to veterans of all generations in the communities where they live.
