Francis “Frank” R. Donnelly, 85, of Hazlet, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 26 at Inspira Medical Center in Woodbury, surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born on February 19, 1931 in Jersey City, where he grew up. In 1955 he moved to Keyport and in 1969 settled in Hazlet where he raised his family.

Frank retired from Rollo’s Trucking and Bus Company of Keyport after many years of service.

He was an active, faithful and selfless member and volunteer at New Monmouth Baptist Church in Middletown, New Jersey. He served as a deacon and church minister, visiting local nursing homes and rehabilitation centers, bringing the message and communion to the elderly and those in need. Frank was also known for making home visits with Pastor Dan and Don on Fridays.

He was also part of the music ministry, and volunteered as a bus driver for the camp for kids, senior citizens and anyone in need of transportation anywhere. Frank also was the custodial engineer in charge of modernization and renovations at the church.

He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas H. and Edna A. (Rhein) Donnelly; his brother, Ronald Donnelly; and his sister-in-law, Pat Donnelly.

Frank is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Ruth J. (Enderlein)

Donnelly; his beloved children, Bruce Donnelly and his wife Lynn of Colorado, Kathryn Johnson and her husband John of Iowa, Deborah Bradshaw and her husband James of Mullica Hill and Jill Bennett and her husband Brian of Virginia; his sister, Mary MacKenzie and her husband Don; his brother, Thomas Donnelly Jr.; his loving grandchildren, Melissa, Ryan, Lauren, Daniel, Carla, Rachael and Stephen; and his great-grandchildren, Hadley Payne, Arabella Echo, Estelle and Nathan. Frank is also survived by his nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and with many special friends.
