Larry Garmany, the founder of Garmany’s clothing store in Red Bank, died Saturday at age 62.

Laureano O. “Larry” Garmany of Colts Neck, the founder of Garmany’s in Red Bank, died Saturday at the age of 62 at  Jersey Shore Medical Center.

Larry was born in Vazquez, Oriente, Cuba, but left at a young age to come to the United States. According to his obituary, Larry’s dream and life’s work, Garmany in Red Bank, is one of his proudest accomplishments.

Garmany is survived by his wife Angeles; his son Johnell with his wife Stefanie; his daughter Vanessa with her husband Rafael; his five grandchildren, three sisters and his mother Blanca Garcia Amado; as well as many nieces, nephews and family members. He was predeceased by his father Laureano G., who died in 1998.

A celebration of his life will be held at Holmdel Funeral Home, at 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel NJ 07733 on Tuesday, July, 28th from 4 to 8pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. James R.C. Church, 94 Broad Street, Red Bank on Wednesday, July, 29th at 10:30 am.
