Helen “Nan” Halloran, 92 of Longboat Key, Florida, passed away peacefully Aug. 15. She was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania to the late Francis and Mary (Crane) Hopkins. After marrying John J. Halloran in 1950, they moved to Middletown in 1956 where they raised their four children. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Middletown. In 1999 she relocated to Long Valley and then moved to Longboat Key.

Nan loved family time, home cooked meals, books, puzzles, cards, gardening and her dogs. While loving and taking care of her children she also loved her nieces, nephews and grandchildren with all her heart. Nan has lived a wonderful life to the age of 92 and will be missed by all her family and friends.

Nan is predeceased by her beloved husband John J. Halloran; her sisters Kay Harder, Marge Lavelle and Marilyn Culkin and her brothers Frank and Vincent Hopkins. Surviving are her loving children Mariclaire Papa and husband Ray, Mark Halloran and wife Rosemarie, Luke Halloran and wife Kathy, Matthew Halloran and wife Colleen; her cherished grandchildren Colin Halloran and wife Carrie, Elizabeth Wyder and husband Robert, Victoria, Patrick, Lauren, John, Luke, Logan and Gavin Halloran; her great-grandchild Teagan Halloran; and her dear siblings, Leo Hopkins, Ev Griffin, Claire Connolly, Robert Hopkins.

A visitation was held Aug. 24 at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Aug. 25 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Middletown. Interment followed at Fair View Cemetery in Middletown.
