Thomas “Tom” Ward Havard Sr., 81, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6 at his home. He was born on October 20, 1933 in Kingston, Pa., where he grew up. Thomas also lived in Irvington for a short time and in 1963 he settled in Hazlet. Before retiring, Tom worked as a warehouse manager for 42 years at Schering Plough in New Jersey. Tom was also a proud United States Navy veteran, having served in the Korean War.

He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Elizabeth (Adams) Havard; his wife of 35 years, Dorothy Ann (Fockler) Havard in 1990; and his wife Anna Marie (Talerico) Havard in 2008. Tom is survived by his loving children, Cynthia Yacovelli and her husband Michael of Holmdel, Thomas W. Havard Jr. and Marilyn Alu of Hazlet, Sally Keegan and her husband Brian of Hazlet, Bill Havard and Jody Phillips of West Long Branch and Edward Havard Sr. and Donna Patrick of Keyport. Tom is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Sarah Noce, Jillian Yacovelli, Jamie Yacovelli, Kelsey Keegan, Edward Havard Jr., Donovan James Havard; his four adored great grandchildren; and many dear nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9 and Thursday, September 10 from 8 to 8:45 a.m. at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, September 10 at 9:30 a.m., at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 727 Highway 36, Union Beach.
