RUMSON – Jack Howley of Rumson was awarded the 2013 Founder’s Medal by Bergen Catholic High School during its sixth annual Crusader Gala.
Howley, a 1979 graduate of Bergen Catholic and a former Teaneck resident, was honored before a record crowd of more than 600 fellow alumni, benefactors, associates, friends and family. The event is the school’s largest fundraiser.
Howley, who is principal owner of Howley Financial Group in Rumson, has supported the school in a number of ways, including providing scholarships to students who are academically qualified but not able to afford tuition.
“I am fortunate to be able to give back to the school that changed my life, and to offer others the opportunity to have a similar experience,” Howley said.
A recognized leader in the financial services industry, Howley began his career with The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America in 1983 and has provided wealth creation and protection services to more than 3,000 clients since founding his firm in 1987. He attributes his success to the values he learned during his high school years.
“I received a great education and also learned valuable lessons about the importance of living with passion, purpose and a sense of self. These lessons have served me well and are gifts that I use to inspire others: To strive for excellence; to be compassionate and help others; and to make a difference.”
Howley is deeply involved in organizations, nonprofits and causes in Monmouth County that hold meaning for him. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Monmouth Medical Center Foundation, the Rumson Fair-Haven Run, the Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, The Randy Foye Foundation and is an avid supporter of the Jay Dooley Foundation and Lunch Break, among others. He is also on the board of the Charles Edison Fund, Edison Innovation Foundation.
