Jordan, Margaret “Peggy” E. , Age: 94, Keansburg

Margaret “Peggy” E. Jordan, 94, of Keansburg, passed
away Thursday, October 8. She was born in Long Branch
and lived in Middletown for many years before moving to Bayside Manor in Keansburg in 2011.
Peggy was a graduate of St James Elementary school, Red
Bank Catholic High School and Trenton State Teacher College.
She was a communicant of St. James R.C. Church, Red Bank,
member of the Middletown Historical Society, and a 4H leader.
Peggy retired as a teacher with the Red Bank School system
after 44 years of service. She was named Teacher of the Year in 1983.
Peggy was predeceased by her husband, Jess E. Jordan;
her son, William Joshua Jordan; and her parents, Edward and Alice McDonough.
She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Alice Goss of
Freehold and Carol Jean Anderson and her husband,
Thomas, of Del.; five grandchildren, Thomas Anderson V,
Jess Anderson, Matthew Anderson, Christopher Goss and
Kathryn Lerch; her husband, Adam; 12 great-grandchildren;
and a brother, Dr. Edward T. McDonough. As well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 12 at the John E.
Day Funeral Home, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial
was held on Tuesday, October 13 at the Church of the
Nativity in Fair Haven. Interment followed at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown.
