Doris Marie Kohl of Monmouth Beach passed away March 21. She was born in Newark on August 19, 1926. Doris graduated from Leonardo High School. She worked at the Hexagon in Electronics Command (ECOM) with the engineering department.

Doris was a skilled seamstress, animal lover and avid reader. She loved spending time with family working at the Lincroft Christmas Tree Farm. Here, she could be found in the Wreath House applying her decorative talents to Christmas wreaths of all sizes. Doris cared for animals of all sorts – pets, strays and wildlife. Her stories of training her beloved bird, Windy, will long be remembered. Doris was a resident of Monmouth Beach for over 50 years and fully appreciated living near the shore. Sunbathing at Monmouth Beach Bathing Pavilion absorbed in a novel at the poolside was a favorite past-time.

Doris was a parishioner of Precious Blood and a member of the Monmouth Beach Bathing Pavilion. Doris is survived by her sister-in-law, Patricia Kohl; niece, Mary Patricia Lamberti and husband David of Madison, Connecticut; niece Susan Malone and husband Mark of Rumson; nephew William Kohl Jr. of Lincroft; niece Kathleen Kohl and husband Joseph Laroski of Washington, D.C.; 10 grandnieces and nephews: Conor (Ellen), Sean, Brianna, Kelsey, Christopher, Marielle, William, Joseph, Amelia, Lily Grace; and one great-grandniece, Abigail.
