Ivy J. LaBella, 80, of Cliffwood Beach, passed away on Thursday, January 7 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was born Ivy J. Davidson on May 21, 1935 in Louisiana, where she grew up. In 1956, Ivy moved to Newark, and in 1958, she relocated to Clif fwood Beach. Before retiring, Ivy worked as a clerk for Prudential Insurance Company. Throughout Ivy’s life, she had been an avid cat lover.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Carl LaBella; her parents, Joe and Irene (Mask) Davidson; and her faithful companion, her dog, Darby. Ivy is survived by her loving children, Susan O’Connell and her husband Christopher of Dover, Del., Carl LaBella Jr. and his wife Cindy of Onancock, Va., and Scott LaBella and his wife Cathy of Cliffwood Beach; her cherished grandchildren, Pam Harris, Thomas LaBella, Elisabeth O’Connell, Kimberly LaBella, Natalie LaBella; and her three adored great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 11 at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Hazlet. A prayer service was offered at the funeral home on Monday evening during the visitation.
