Maureen Mansell, 69, of Fair Haven died peacefully April 15 at Riverview Medical Center. Born in Jersey City, Maureen attended Star of the Sea Academy and worked at AT&T Bell Labs for several years where she met her husband Jim.

An active parishioner of the Church of the Nativity (Fair Haven), she was a key member of the Basic Needs committee and delivered Meals on Wheels which helped many members of our community in their times of greatest need. She was always proud to be an active member of the Fair Haven community.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Jim Mansell; and her parents Bill and Eleanor Beirne. She is survived by her daughters, Katie and Alex Shanley of Rumson and Janice and JP Peluso of Fair Haven; and siblings, Kate and Bill Wigginton, Claire and Bob Fitzsimmons and Kevin and Patty Beirne, all of Atlantic Highlands. She will always be Aunt Moe to her many nieces and nephews in New Jersey, Missouri and Wisconsin. Her pride and joy were her six grandsons, Alex, Jack and Brendan Shanley and Jimmy, Teddy, and Tommy Peluso. She loved summer days at Ship Ahoy Beach Club watching them swim in the pool and play in the surf and sand. Every Saturday and Sunday she could be found on the sidelines of one of their many activ- ities. They will always remember her love and support – and chocolate chip cookies.

A memorial gathering will be held Thursday, April 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad St., Red Bank. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, April 22 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Nativity in Fair Haven.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Basic Needs Committee of the Church of the Nativity in Fair Haven or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
