Robert McAllister, 74, of Rumson, passed away at Riverview Hospital of Red Bank on Friday, July 22. “Bobby Mac” was born on February 27, 1942 in Passaic. He served the community for 25 years as a firefighter in Paterson. He attended Saint Johns of Paterson and Clifton High School, class of 1960. After retiring from the fire department in 1994, Bobby continued to selflessly help others, as a bar owner and mason.
Bobby was predeceased by his younger brother, David; his father, Dave, and mother, Ruth McAllister.
He is survived by his twin sister, Ruthann Hughes; his beautiful wife, Joan; six loving children, David McAllister, Kelly Branin, Robert McAllister Jr., Meaghan O’ Connor, Katherine McAllister and Sean McAllister. He was blessed with nine beautiful grandchildren, William, Jesse and Patrick McAllister, Madeline and Spencer Branin, MacAllister O’Connor, Charlotte Simmons, Brett and Kyle McAllister.
Bobby will always be remembered for his warmth, wit, wisdom and his love for hot rods.
