John Moore Jr., 63, of Port Monmouth, passed away peacefully at home Nov. 25. He was born in New York City where he resided until the age of 17, at which time he moved to Keansburg with his family.
John graduated from Keansburg High School and lived in Monmouth County for many years. He was an iron worker for over 35 years for Local 40, retiring in 2004. He was an avid sports fan, most notably of the NY Giants and Yankees. John was a free spirit and enjoyed living life to the fullest. Kind-hearted and funny is how most refer to him; a gentle soul.
Surviving are his wife of 12 years Susan Moore (neé Catapano); sons, John (Jessica) Moore III, Michael Moore, and Brandon Piccini; two daughters, Kelley (Andrew) Pryor and Amy Dura; stepchildren, Jessica (Adam) Binetti, James Catapano, and Katarina Catapano; brother, Kevin (Patricia) Moore; two sisters, Cyndi (Paul) Plummer, and Ashely Moore; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ellen Moore; brother Michael Moore; and sister Ellen Moore.
Visitation was held Nov. 28 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Funeral services were Nov. 29 at the funeral home. In respect of John’s wishes he will be privately cremated.
