Ruthanne Morford, 88, of Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 14. Ruthanne was born in New Brunswick to Ruth and Robert W. Crawford. She moved to Middletown, NJ with her parents in 1946. She met and married her husband, Thomas F. Morford Jr., and lived in Middletown for 55 years before moving to Seabrook Village, Tinton Falls in 2001.
Ruthanne was a graduate of East Orange High School in 1946 and the Katherine Gibbs Business School. She worked as a medical secretary for Dr. Herbert Stein and Monmouth County Organization of Social Services. In addition, she worked at The Navesink House (The Atrium) in later years.
Ruthanne ran a horse boarding business and cultivated and sold Christmas trees on her beloved Garryford Farm in Middletown. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and love for her family. She especially enjoyed hosting family parties on the farm and taking her grandchildren for rides in Myrt, her 1929 Ford Model A Roadster.
Ruthanne was predeceased by her husband, Thomas F. Morford Jr., to whom she was married for over 67 years. She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Robert and Gail of New Hope, Pennsylvania, Richard and Christy of Spring Lake and Bruce and Susan of Middletown. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
