Pier Village Goes Pink for October

LONG BRANCH – Pier Village has joined forces with Susan G. Komen For The Cure of Central and South Jersey along with RSI Bank and Monmouth Medical Center to focus on breast cancer awareness this month.
This is the first time in its history that the entire luxury oceanfront shopping and dining destination will go pink for breast cancer awareness. Pier Village is the year-round community with 30 unique shops, restaurants and 530 luxury residential apartments, located in Long Branch.
As a special promotion to drive business, and breast cancer awareness, to the shopping destination, Pier Village will be raffling off a brand new Vespa scooter. The raffle is free to enter with any Pier Village purchase through Oct. 25. All month long, stop in any Pier Village restaurant or store, make a purchase and you will be given a free raffle ticket. The drawing will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 on Festival Plaza. The winner does not need to be present to win.
Visitors can stop by Cake Bake & Roll during the first week in October to check out the Vespa. A Vespa cake will be on display and fun Vespa-shaped cookies will be for sale. Proceeds from the cookie sales will go to Susan G. Komen For The Cure. Cake Bake & Roll will donate 20 percent of its pie sales on early holiday pie orders during October.
The Vespa scooter was donated by Applied Development Company, the managing company that owns and operates Pier Village.
During the month of October, Pier Village will host promotions, events and specials unique to each and every business within the shopping destination.
The first event, hosted by McLoone’s Pier House from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, will feature local artist Mike Quon and his Shine A Light On Breast Cancershow focusing on New Jersey lighthouse landscapes. The event is free and open to the public. All proceeds from the sale of Quon’s art will go to Susan G. Komen For The Cure of Central and Southern New Jersey. Quon’s art will hang in McLoone’s Pier House throughout the month of October.
