Rimali, Rose, Age: 103, Rumson

432

Rose Rimali, of Rumson, died on Tuesday, September 6 after a full and wonderful life and is now reunited with her beloved husband, Louis, who predeceased her in 1976. Rose was born in Sicily and came to America with her family when she was three months old. She grew up in New York City and then moved to the Bronx, where she raised two daughters and assisted her husband in their business, Crosby Department Store, until their retirement. Rose and Lou moved to Morristown in 1974.

After her husband died, she moved to Rumson and has lived with her daughter and her family for over 25 years. Rose was an energetic member of the Rumson Senior Citizens and a communicant of Holy Cross Church. She was a fabulous seamstress and Italian cook who made the best meatballs in the family. She loved sharing her amazing life through the wonderful stories she told about all she had witnessed throughout her 103 years.

Rose is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Robert Slavin of Rumson; as well as her daughter, Adele Noonan of Palm City, Florida. She leaves four grandchildren: Laura Gambacorto of Oceanport, Daniel Lynch of Fair Haven, Donna Rydberg of Palm City, Florida, and Eric Gray of Port St. Lucie, Florida; along with nine beautiful great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. All will miss her dearly.

John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the VNA Health Group, 176 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701. Visit Rose’s memorial website at www.johnedayfuneralhome.com.
