Stevens, Geoffrey, Fair Haven

1042

Geoffrey Stevens of Fair Haven passed away May 25 at Hackensack University Medical Center. Jeff was born in Akron, Ohio, and spent his childhood in Florida, where he learned to love everything about the natural world. He moved to Red Bank in 1992 and was employed by Best of Nature natural products company as a product development engineer. His interests and talents were diverse and included developing soil mixtures for vegetables, kayaking, hiking, meteorology and the practices of shamans he met in the Amazon rain forest.

He is survived by his father, Henry, age 98 and a veteran of World War II; his siblings Caroline Stevens of Ashburn, Virginia, Ronald Stevens of Los Angeles, Pamela Colucci and husband Robert of Tampa, and Deborah Stevens of Tampa; and his nephew, Joseph Colucci and wife Deirdre of Tampa. He also leaves a group of devoted friends in the area who supported him and his father during his last illness.

There was a memorial service May 30 at the Thompson Memorial Home, Red Bank. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 31 at the Church of the Nativity, Fair Haven.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in the name of Jeff Stevens to the Friends of the Monmouth County Park System.
