Robert F. Trigg Sr., 79, of Union Beach, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home on Friday, Jan. 29. Robert was born on July 18, 1936 in Newark, where he grew up. In 1951, he and his family moved to Belford. A few years later, on June 13, 1958, Robert married his wife, Carolyn, and they began their life together. In 1966, they settled in Union Beach, to raise their family, where they have remained. Throughout Robert’s life, he worked for the Prudential Insurance Company; he was currently retired. He was also a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran, where he ser ved during the Korean Conflict.
He was predeceased by his parents, Clifton and Grace (Gowen) Trigg. Robert is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 57 years, Carolyn (Hawkins) Trigg, his loving children, Robert Trigg Jr. and his wife Tammy of Union Beach, David Trigg and his wife Bernadette of Elkton, Maryland, Judy Cline and her husband Richard of Union Beach, Maria Sisolak and her husband Michael of Georgia, and Antonio “Tony” Trigg and his wife Darleen of Middletown. Robert is also survived by his dear brother, Clifton Trigg, his cherished grandchildren, Tara Newton and her husband Aaron, Richard Cline and his wife Jessica, Steven Cline and his wife Ashleigh, David Trigg Jr., Sara Cline, Douglas Trigg (whom was also Rober t’s Godchild) and his fiancé Nicole, Jeffrey Sisolak and his wife Christie, Kyle Sisolak, Rachel Trigg, Robert Trigg III, Jonathan Trigg, Jillian Trigg, Tony Trigg Jr., and Victoria Trigg, along with his adored great grandchildren, Nicholas, Travis, and Alexis. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Ser vices, Hazlet.
