RUMSON – The Second Annual Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 9. Volunteers are needed and can register at www.rumsonstpatricksdayparade.org/volunteer or emaiul to info@rumsonstpatricksdayparade.org.
“The best part about volunteering for the Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade is that you’re in the midst of so much spirit and enthusiasm, said Jan O’Reilly, a parade board member who is volunteer chair. “Volunteer roles are still open for parade marshals, unit escorts, volunteer recruiters and more. The event brings together people from all walks of life to celebrate the ancient St. Patrick’s Day parade tradition. I look forward to recruiting new volunteers again this year and enjoying all of the festivities surrounding the big day!”
Brig. Gen. Peter M. Dawkins, USA (Ret.) will serve as grand marshal. JoAnn Pileggi, reporter for Fox 5 and My9 News, will again be the master of ceremonies.
The day will be complete with music, eight bag pipe bands, floats, marching bands from area high schools, Irish step dancers, antique and classic cars, veteran groups, Scout organizations, non-profit clubs and organizations, schools, novelty acts, and area business and civic groups.
The parade sponsors are Monmouth Medical Center, The Two River Times, Howley Financial Group, Guinness, Elite Stone Importers and Cravin Haven.
