ASBURY PARK – The Garden State Film Festival (GSFF) is coming back for its 24th year, ready to showcase 205 films from 19 countries across nine venues in Asbury Park and Cranford. The festival runs from March 26 to 29.

Founded in 1975 by folksinger and environmental advocate Bob Killian, the organization now known as New Jersey Friends of Clearwater will commemorate its 50th year celebrating the gifts of the Earth and its oceans through music, fun and friendship this weekend.

ASBURY PARK – A President Trump impersonator was, fittingly, one of the first speakers at Asbury Park’s No Kings rally, held this past Saturday at Springwood Park.

ASBURY PARK – The 23rd Garden State Film Festival (GSFF) will feature a dynamic lineup of films – some locally produced – along with red carpet celebrity events, panel discussions, live podcasts, cocktail parties and an awards banquet. 

RED BANK – In Monmouth County, officials and local activists are working together to address community concerns over new federal immigration policies that allow U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in schools, hospitals and places of worship, areas that were previously off limits.

TINTON FALLS – The sound of music is reverberating through Soldier On’s Gordon H. Mansfield Veterans community, where 13 residents recently wrote and recorded an original song, memorializing the feat on CD and video.

Held in Asbury Park’s Trinity Church, a diverse array of speakers considered the question: “What’s Next? Understanding Our Role After the Election.”

ASBURY PARK – Not to erode any summer beach fun, but state officials and environmental experts have urged visitors to proceed with cautious optimism this coming season, warning of significant climate change impacts to the Jersey Shore during the 22nd annual State of the Shore conference May 23.
