PISCATAWAY – A state championship win is the perfect ending to a special season. Red Bank Catholic’s girls basketball team wrote that script and added two other milestones to make a memorable season legendary.

RED BANK – Addy Nyemchek has been highly regarded throughout her high school career at Red Bank Catholic within the borders of New Jersey. Now, she’s getting her flowers as one of the best players in the country.

HOLMDEL – In a clash between New Jersey’s top-ranked girls basketball programs, No. 1 Red Bank Catholic proved why it sits atop the state rankings, riding a stellar second-half performance to a 62-51 road victory over No. 2 St. John Vianney Tuesday night.

The non-public brackets are out and it’s time to begin the road to MetLife Stadium. Red Bank Catholic and St. John Vianney both earned home games for the opening round.

RUMSON – Gabe Kemp’s high school career is exactly seven games old, yet the Red Bank Catholic freshman running back has a stat sheet that looks like a senior dominating the Shore Conference.

RED BANK – Red Bank Catholic’s youth movement showed it can shine brightest under pressure. Behind standout performances from freshmen quarterback Rahmir Rivera and running back Gabe Kemp, the Caseys outlasted Holmdel 29-28 in a Shore Conference showdown that lived up to its billing as a “war at the shore.”

LINCROFT – “No, no, I am as ugly as a bear,” cried Red Bank Catholic senior Sarah Moser last Saturday, spotlighted against a red curtain on the stage of Brookdale Community College’s Performing Arts Center. Moser, from Matawan, was one of five students taking her turn reciting passages from Shakespeare’s works for the Monmouth County English-Speaking Union’s (ESU) annual Shakespeare Competition for High School Students.

The Hoop Group Showcase at Georgian Court University gave three local girls basketball teams some elite competition on a Sunday afternoon.

Last year, the three recipients of the Sister Joanmarie McDonnell Financial Award received a combined $2,000 toward their senior year fees at Red Bank Catholic (RBC).
