OCEANPORT – The rise of New Jersey as “Hollywood East,” cemented last month with Netflix’s official closing on the Fort Monmouth Mega Parcel, was celebrated Monday by top company leaders and state and local government officials.

FORT MONMOUTH – A collective sigh of relief reverberated from Monmouth County to Trenton to Hollywood Dec. 5 when Netflix and the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) closed on 292-plus acres that will become Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth.

FORT MONMOUTH – A long-standing goal of preserving Fort Monmouth’s military history as part of its redevelopment was achieved Friday with the unveiling of the 117 World War II monuments relocated to the fort’s historic district. 

OCEANPORT – The mystery of Netflix’s plans for 79.3 acres of Fort Monmouth known as the “400 Area” was solved when the company’s representatives gained approval from the Oceanport Borough Planning Board last week. 

FREEHOLD – Fast and furious is an apt description for the speed with which Netflix is making its impression on the Garden State.

EATONTOWN – As the borough council moves closer to approving a 30-year Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) arrangement with Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth, Eatontown officials are contemplating local projects the initial payments could fund.

Close to 90 structures on the former U.S. Army base are meeting the wrecking ball to make way for Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth.

SHREWSBURY – Some residents of the Enclave, an active adult community in Shrewsbury, have asked the borough council to become more involved in Netflix’s plans for the construction of a major film production facility on the former Fort Monmouth.

EATONTOWN – Last week’s unanimous approval by the Eatontown Planning Board means Netflix can proceed with the largest portion of its planned production studio on Fort Monmouth.

TINTON FALLS – The new Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health/ Monmouth Medical Center building under construction in the Tinton Falls section of Fort Monmouth is expected to be completed by December 2026. Last Wednesday, the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) unanimously approved the second phase of the complex.
