OCEANPORT – As spring bird migration sweeps through the Jersey Shore, some ospreys, known for their ability to return to the same nest site every year, will find their longtime nests gone as the entertainment giant Netflix advances its construction plans at the former Fort Monmouth.

OCEANPORT – New Jersey City University’s (NJCU) Board of Trustees has unanimously voted to accept a merger proposal from Kean University that would see the almost century-old institution renamed Kean Jersey City.

OCEANPORT – As new businesses prepare to open at RiverWalk Center at the former Fort Monmouth, the development’s owners have decided on a new approach for the site’s hotel and restaurants.

FORT MONMOUTH – “The landscape of Fort Monmouth will look drastically different next year,” said Kara Kopach, executive director of the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA), as 2024 drew to a close.

EATONTOWN – By unanimous vote Monday night, the Eatontown Planning Board joined Oceanport in approving the first phase of Netflix’s planned production studio complex on 292 acres of Fort Monmouth.

FORT MONMOUTH – As the planned Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth clears another hurdle, specifics of the complex are coming into sharper focus.

OCEANPORT—Lighting, signage, traffic and operating hours emerged as concerns during Netflix’s almost four-hour presentation of its planned new production studios on Fort Monmouth.

FORT MONMOUTH – Eatontown, Oceanport and Tinton Falls officials have 45 days to review recently expanded flexibility for Fort Monmouth’s Allison Hall Parcel in Oceanport, currently being redeveloped into the multiuse RiverWalk Center along Oceanport Avenue.

With closing still two years away, Netflix has been granted permission to begin demolishing 88 buildings on the 300 acres of Fort Monmouth the firm plans to transform into a major production studio. If the sale falls through, Netflix is responsible for completing and removing the approved demolition.
