FREEHOLD — A Superior Court jury on Thursday found Arthur Morgan III guilty on all counts for the murder of his two-year-old daughter, Tierra Morgan-Glover.
The jury of five men and seven women found Glover, 29, last known address in Eatontown, guilty of first- degree murder, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and third-degree interference with custody, according to Charles Webster, a spokesman for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
Morgan is expected to return to court on May 26 for sentencing. He faces a maximum penalty of life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder conviction, a maximum of 10 years for the endangering charge and five years for the inference offense, according to Webster.
In a released statement Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni commended First Assistant Prosecutor Marc LeMieux and Assistant Prosecutor Jordan L. Williams for their work in obtaining the verdict, “providing justice for the senseless death of an innocent child.”
“Little Tierra can now rest in peace,” Gramiccioni said.
Morgan was prosecuted and found guilty following an investigation conducted by the county prosecutor’s office and other law enforcement agencies following the discovery of Tierra’s body on Nov. 22, 2011. A group of teenagers found the child’s body, fully clothed and strapped into a car seat and weighed down by a carjack submerged in a stream in the Shark River Park section of Wall, Webster said.
