MMIDDLETOWN — Officers from the township police and Animal Control Office responded to a call about an alligator on Hartshorne Road Friday morning. The officers discovered a 2½ foot-long alligator in a home’s driveway. The animal control officer put a blanket over it and secured it in a transportation carrier, according to detective Lt. Stephen Dollinger.

The alligator was removed without incident but police have no indication of how it got there, Dollinger said.
