ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS – Sea Scout Ship 5 Navesink,  sponsored by the Navesink Maritime Heritage Association (NMHA), will be holding a Half-Day Fluke Fishing Cruise on Sunday, Aug. 3, to raise money for the Sea Scouts.
Fishing will be limited to 30 people to allow for plenty of room on the boat. Several Sea Scouts and their parents will be aboard to assist with the bait, along with a professional mate to help net and fillet giant flukes.
Bait and poles are included for this family friendly trip. Guests should bring their lunch, sunscreen and a “lucky” pole, if they have one.
The rain date is Sunday, Aug. 17. The trip will be canceled only if weather is unsafe. No refunds will be given if the boat sails.
The cost is $35. Proceeds also will benefit NMHA programs.
Boarding begins at 7:30 a.m., behind Sissy’s at Franks Pier, Slip 65.
