SEA BRIGHT — Repaired, restored, renovated and expanded, Edgewater Beach and Cabana Club is back in business after Sandy and receiving state recognition and encouragement.
State Senator Joseph M. Kyrillos Jr. (R-13) this morning appeared at the club, 1465 Ocean Ave., presenting a copy of a resolution recently passed by the Senate acknowledging the hard work and resolve to restore the business.
Edgewater, 1465 Ocean Ave., owned and operated by the Stavola family, had experienced significant damage from the October storm. According to Gary Vialonga, president of the Stavola Realty Company, it was “70 percent destroyed” by the storm’s effects.
In their rebuilding efforts, “This thing was ripped down to the studs, and the facility completely rebuilt,” Vialonga said.
Edgewater now has an additional 60 private cabanas, along with the completely redone facility.
And, “We did it all in 220 days,” Vialonga said.
“What they did here is so special,” Kyrillos said. “I want to salute that.”
