Businesswomen Honored for Helping Women Reach Full Potential

FREEHOLD  – The Greater Monmouth Chamber of Commerce has announced the nominees for the 29th Annual ATHENA Leadership Award®.
The award is presented to an exemplary leader who has achieved excellence in their business or profession, served the community in a meaningful way and, most importantly, actively assisted women to achieve their full leadership potential.
The 2014 nominees are:

  • Tracy A. Armstrong, Esq., partner and executive director, Lomurro Davison Eastman & Munoz, PA
  • Mary Eileen Fouratt, executive director, Monmouth County Arts Council
  • Cynthia Jacques, vice president of housing and community initiatives, United Methodist Homes of NJ
  • Linda Keenan, director of development, The FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties
  • Randi Marder, sales executive, Inkwell Global Marketing
  • Susan McGlory Michel, CEO, Glen Eagle Advisors, LLC
  • Marlene Rogala, owner, president, Especially for You Florist and Gift Shop, Inc.
  • Maria Romano, senior VP, regional manager, The Provident Bank
  • Marilyn Schlossbach, owner and executive chef, The Marilyn Schlossbach Group
  • Julie Mae Stanley, President, NAWBO, Central Jersey Chapter

Founded 30 years ago, ATHENA International is a women’s leadership organization that supports, develops and honors women leaders through the programs it administers. ATHENA’s flagship program, the ATHENA Leadership Award® Program, has honored more than 6,250 women leaders from hundreds of cities and eight countries since its inception in 1982.
The program is facilitated locally by the Greater Monmouth Chamber of Commerce, the only licensed ATHENA host organization in the state of New Jersey.
Nominations are sought throughout the community and recipients are selected by a diverse group of community leaders based on the criteria above.
The award will be presented on Friday, Nov. 7, at Battleground Country Club, 1 Covenhoven Road, Manalapan.
