Crimoli Takes Over as Head Coach at Holmdel

HOLMDEL – New head coach Gene Crimoli and his Holmdel Hornets will be looking to improve upon last season’s 10-12 record.
Leading the way for the Hornets this season will be senior catcher/first baseman Joe Sadler (.552, 13 2B, 6 HR and 27 RBI).
Other key returning players for the Hornets are senior catcher/first baseman Dean LaBarca, senior centerfielder Jack Flanagan, senior infielder Greg Heitman, senior outfielder Niko Guarino, senior outfielders/pitchers Tom Sockol and Jeff Wischerath, senior pitcher Dylan Popin, senior pitcher/third baseman Matt Schneiderman, junior catcher Frank Condito and junior first baseman/pitcher Ashwin Jain.
The top newcomers for the Hornets are junior infielder Eric Alvino, junior infielder/pitcher Tyler Kiss, junior outfielders DJ Goins and Jake Russo, junior pitcher Corey Nuzzi and sophomore catcher Will Van Name.
“I feel that RBC and SJV will certainly be tough in our division,” Crimoli said.
The Hornets will open up their season on Wednesday, April 2, at Monmouth Regional.
