Elizabeth M. Darcy, 99, of Red Bank, passed away on Tuesday, August 25 at the Atrium at Navesink Harbor. She was born in Troy, N.Y., to the late Joseph and Mary (Smith) Driscoll. Elizabeth graduated in 1938 from SUNY at Albany, formerly NY State College for teachers. She was a teacher for the Atlantic Highlands Elementary School for 20 years. Elizabeth was a parishioner of St. James Catholic Church and a member of the St James Rosary Altar Society. She is also a Secular Franciscan and an Associate of the Sisters of Mercy.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas P. Darcy in 1969; and her brother, Joseph P. Driscoll Jr. in 1959. Surviving are her daughter, Catherine C. Darcy, RSM, of Philadelphia, Pa.; her three sons, Timothy J. Darcy of Dayton, Ohio, Thomas C. Darcy of Phnom Pehn, Cambodia, and Dennis M. Darcy of Tyngsborough, Mass.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation was held at the John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, on Friday, August 28. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. James RC Church on Saturday, August 29. Interment followed at Mt.
