SEA BRIGHT – The Foundation to Save the Jersey Shore is holding a country and western-themed party on Friday, April 25, at Windows on the Water in Sea Bright.
Proceeds from the Denim & Diamonds fundraiser will benefit families from Union Beach, Highlands and other shore towns who are still unable to move back into their homes almost 18 months after Super Storm Sandy struck.
Tickets are available for $75. The event will feature a country music band, live and silent auctions, endless hors d’ouevres, and beer, wine and soft drinks.
“We have received generous donations and sponsorship commitments for this event, which means that almost every dollar raised through ticket sales and auction items will go right into the hands of the people who most desperately need assistance,” said Carol Stillwell, who chairs Save the Jersey Shore’s Fundraising Committee. “The venue has been donated by Windows on the Water in Sea Bright, while the other costs will be covered by the foundation’s donors and sponsors.”
“We want everyone to have fun and enjoy a relaxed spring evening at the beach,” said Warren Diamond, the Save the Jersey Shore founder. “But the purpose of this event is to remind our neighbors in Monmouth and Ocean counties that there are thousands of homeowners who have exhausted traditional sources of relief and are still displaced. We have a huge amount of work to do to make things right.”
Of the many relief organizations that sprung up after Sandy, many have closed down or scaled back. Save the Jersey Shore will be holding fundraising events throughout 2014, including a celebrity golf outing at Trump National in May.
