Fair Haven Diamonds Sparkle with League Championship

sports-Diamonds_win2FAIR HAVEN – The 8U Fair Haven Diamonds travel baseball team, playing in the United States Amateur Baseball League, beat the Rumson Dawgs in the semifinals on Saturday June 21, then traveled Sunday, June 22, to Ocean Township for the championship game.

Though the Ocean Hammerheads were undefeated, the Fair Haven Diamonds pulled ahead early and never looked back, winning the contest decisively, 9-1.

The Diamonds’ pitchers Trent Stevens and Nick Rigby held the hard-hitting Hammerheads to few hits and minimal walks.

“It was a tremendous effort by all involved,” Diamonds’ head coach John LoGioco said. “Our boys stayed focused and delivered in all the right places. I can’t be more proud of this team and what they have accomplished over the last two years.”
