ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS – Two weekends of Halloween festivities are about to come to the historic town that will play host to a Halloween party and a haunted house tour.
Beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, and ending at 5 p.m., the newly formed Atlantic Frightlands committee will be hosting an afternoon of live music by Plato Zorba, games for children, costume contests for both adults and kids, exciting sideshow circus acts, a First Avenue Scavenger Hunt, free pumpkin painting contest, tarot card readers and food from the local restaurants. Local stores and restaurants along First Avenue will be participating by decorating their businesses to complete the transformation into Atlantic Frightlands – New Jersey’s “Halloween Central.”
The popular annual haunted tour at the Strauss Mansion will be held Friday, Oct. 25 and Saturday, Oct. 26 at 27 Prospect Circle.
The goal of the Atlantic Frightlands committee is to raise awareness of various organizations and businesses in Atlantic Highlands. Funds raised from these two events will support the Atlantic Highlands Arts Council and the Atlantic Highlands Historical Society.
