Red Bank resident Andrea Agin, in collaboration with the Monmouth County Vocational School, is hosting Give Back to the Community Event: Haircuts for Exit 117, from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10.
The event will take place in the salon facility located at the Monmouth County Vocational School at 280 Atlantic St. in Keyport.
Residents of Highlands, Keyport, Union Beach and Keansburg will be able to come and receive a free haircut with proof of residency.
The event will be first-come, first-served. Organizers hope to accommodate about 240 people. The haircuts will be provided by New Jersey licensed stylists from various salons throughout the state who have donated their time.
The beauty distributor Emiliani Enterprises has donated all of the shampoos and styling products to support this event.
Coffee and tea is being donated from Blue Water Seafood in Red Bank.
This event will give those that have lost so much from Hurricane Sandy during the holiday season a little pick-me-up during the holiday season and also will give cosmetology students exposure to helping those in the community.
