RED BANK – For the third consecutive year, fireworks will once again be booming over the Navesink River to the delight of the community while raising money for Riverview Medical Center Foundation.
Saturday’s Family Fire – works on the Navesink promises to be a spectacular event for all ages held at the DiPiero family home on the Navesink River.
“A lot of work went into planning this event, and we’re all so excited to see it come to life on Saturday,” said Hilary DiPiero, event chair and foundation trustee. “We have an incredible team of supporters who are eager to get more involved in our local hospital, especially as we see new,
innovative programs and services evolve.”
Funds raised at the Family Fireworks on the Navesink will support Riverview Medical Center’s comprehensive capital campaign which includes the expansion of the Cancer Center in the Booker Pavilion, a 29,000-square-foot addition that will combine visual and technical upgrades in order to meet the clinical and emotional needs of patients, upgrades to patient rooms, and the launch of innovative programs like integrative medicine.
“Saturday is going to be a very special evening, not only for Riverview Medical Center but for our community as a whole,” said Nancy Mulheren, chair of Riverview Medical Center Foundation. “Joining together to raise money for the hospital and helping to ensure we have access to the best care right in our back- yard is such a meaningful experience that I’m proud to be a part of.”
The family event will feature a barbecue buffet, food trucks, inflatable rides and games, followed by a 20 minute illuminating fireworks display over the Navesink River.
According to John Kemps, of Celebration Fireworks, the pyromusical, featuring both popular and patriotic music, will utilize 39 separate fireworks firing locations to launch about 2,000 fireworks devices, each with 1/100th second timing accuracy and with launching angles from 10 degrees to straight up to fill the night sky. Over 1 mile of wire will be connected by a crew of 12 skilled pyro-technicians over a three-day period.
“Celebration Fireworks is delighted to bring world-class fireworks entertainment to the community,” said Kemp, “and we are especially happy to help Riverview Medical Center raise funds and delight their guests at the same time.”
Family Fireworks on the Navesink is expected to raise over $100,000 and reach sold out, record-breaking ticket sales.
“We are expected to see record breaking attendance at Saturday’s Family Fire works fundraising event,” said Timothy Hogan, Meridian Health’s regional hospital president for Monmouth County. “There’s a lot of excitement in the air surrounding Riverview Medical Center’s cancer center expansion and new, innovative programs such as integrative medicine. The community is really rallying behind the opportunity to support these initiatives and participate in the hospital’s growth and delivery of world-class care.”
