LITTLE SILVER – The Little Silver 8th-grade boys travel basketball team completed its final season together in a very successful manner.
The team, which has been together since third grade, finished in first place in the Eastern Division of the
Mid Monmouth Town Travel League with an undefeated record of 12-0.
With playoff wins over Tinton Falls and Point Pleasant, the team again earned a trip to the League Final Four Tournament. This was nothing new to the squad as they have been Final Four participants in four of the last five years.
Little Silver lost a hard fought battle to eventual league champion Colts Neck and finished with a season record of 14-1.
“Every year the boys progressed as a team and they really play the game the right way,” coach George Lang said. “It has been my pleasure to coach such a great group.”
