Mater Dei’s Palmer Holds Shore Conference Record

MIDDLETOWN  – It was on Saturday, Nov. 15, that Mater Dei Prep senior quarterback Christian Palmer scored his 41st touchdown.
Palmer now holds the all-time highest single season, all-purpose touchdown record in the Shore Conference. The record was previously held by Knowshon Moreno, the Middletown South graduate who is now a running back with the NFL’s Miami Dolphins.
Palmer also leads the Shore Conference in yards per carry, touchdown passes and touchdowns scored.
Palmer became the Seraph’s starting quarterback his sophomore year.  He believes taking each game one at a time, staying focused on the week ahead, and working as a team is the key to success.
“Christian Palmer’s work ethic is what separates him from others,” Mater Dei head coach Steven Sciarappa said. “He works to better himself every day as a person, which manifests itself into the type of player coaches are blessed to have, and teammates see as a leader. Christian Palmer is a winner. He always conducts himself with a sense of pride and integrity and is a major reason our program has turned toward one that will compete for championship.”
The Seraphs ended their season with an 8-3 record, losing in the state group semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 22, to St. Joseph’s Hammonton.
Palmer, who lives in Middletown with his parents and three siblings Carley, Morgan and Danny, plans to play football and study finance in college.
