RED BANK –Gwendolyn O. Love, executive director of Lunch Break, received the keys to a new refrigerated truck, donated by the Monmouth County Automobile Dealers Association.
“We are speechless,” said Love, of the kindness and generosity. “This new truck will enable us to ensure we can serve fresh, quality, nutritious food to our neighbors in need. It will also ensure there is minimal disruption in serving meals during our expansion and transition into our new building.”
Mark Brahney, president of the Lunch Break Board of Trustees, echoed those sentiments. “It’s wonderful,” he said. “We are overwhelmed with gratitude. This truck will make a world of difference to all of us. We can’t thank the Monmouth County Automobile Dealers Association enough.”
Jon Schwartz of Schwartz Mazda handed the keys to Love.
“The Monmouth County Automobile Dealers Association is a charitable nonprofit organization representing over half a dozen auto dealers in Monmouth County and was formed to give back to the community,” Schwartz said. “Established in 1920, most of the dealers are still family owned today.”
The charter members that were instrumental in the donation were: Charlie and Remsen Straub from Straub Motors; Bob and Mike Little from Tom’s Ford; Jim and Rich Matthews from Red Bank Volvo; Jeff and George Wall from Wall Lincoln – Ford; Robert and Paul DeFelice from the Circle Hyundai; Tom DeFelice of Circle BMW; Don Buhler from the Buhler Auto Group; and Jim and Jon Schwartz from Schwartz Mazda.
“Hino Trucks of North America, RBC Capital and Ray Catena also donated to purchase the truck for Lunch Break,” Schwartz said.
Remsen Straub, who participated in the handing over of the keys, said, “It is important to give back. Lunch Break serves such a critical role in our community. All of us at the association wanted to step up to the plate for Lunch Break.”
