MIDDLETOWN – For nearly 60 years, the Monmouth Players never ceased to be proud of serving the Bayshore area as one of the preeminent community theaters.  Over those years, the group has never forgotten what they truly are – a community theater.
The players have formed an effort to give back to others in the aftermath of Super Storm Sandy and will be hosting a benefit at the theater at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 22 and 23.
The benefit will feature local singers and musicians playing old favorites and original compositions. There will be 15 performances ranging from soft rock to the blues featuring Six O’Clock Whistle, The Chardonairs, Brian West, Rick Davis, Dan Aldrich, John Bernyk, Bobby Donofrio, Kevin J Allen, Jim Crawford, Paul Lovino, Pamela Holck Del Franco, Mike del Franco and Tracey Stewart.
The event will take place at the Navesink Library Theater, on the corner of Sears and Monmouth avenues in the Navesink section of Middletown.
The suggested donation is $20 but all donations will be gladly accepted. Refreshments will be available.
Reservations are available by calling 732-291-9211.
