Joseph “Joe” A. Pede, 53, of Hazlet, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 23 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. He was born on April 24, 1962 in Staten Island, N.Y., where he grew up. In 1987, he and his wife, Kathleen, moved to Union Beach to raise their family. In 1994, they settled in Hazlet. Joe worked as a self-employed contractor.
He was predeceased by his parents, Michelangelo and Tecla (Primiano) Pede. Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Kathleen “Kathy” Pede; his loving children, Joseph C. Pede of Union Beach, Nicole D. Pede and her companion, Joseph White, of Hazlet, Laura R. Pede of Hazlet and Michael J. Pede of Hazlet, along with his dear siblings, Angela Pede, Patricia McIsaac, Michael Pede, and John Pede and his wife Deborah. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, August 27 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday morning, August 28 from 8 to 8:45 a.m. at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday morning, August 28 at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 727 Highway 36, Union Beach. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 100 Chapel Hill Road, Middletown.
