RBR Baseball Team Looks Toward a ‘Good Season’

LITTLE SILVER – Red Bank Regional’s new baseball coach, Nick Tucker, has inherited a rebuilding project with just four returning starters from last year’s 13-12 team.
But he maintains a hopeful outlook and looks to be a contender in the B North Division.
“Our hitting should be OK,” Tucker said. “We have an inexperienced, young team, but there is plenty of potential. The new guys, however, must step up.
“If we can come together as a team and mature quickly as a group, we should have a good season,” Tucker said.
The returning starters are shortstop-pitcher Cory Martin, who hit .425 last year, outfielder Sean O’Connell and pitchers Jacob Nappi and A.J. Forgione.
Other probable starters are catcher Milnes, third baseman-pitcher Jesse Mack, Sha’mere Williams, outfielders Ryan Lozada and Connor Kelly, designated hitter Ryan Grant and pitcher-first baseman Isiah Sestito.
“Defense is one of our most consistent strong points,” Tucker said. “We have to play good defense to keep us in games.”
