Little Silver – Red Bank Regional (RBR) senior Joseph Perfetto of Little Silver entered Cub Scouts at the age of 6, he earned the Arrow of Light at the age of 11, he crossed over to Boy Scout Troop 126, and rose through the ranks to Boy Scouts’ highest honor of Eagle Scout. For his Eagle Scout project, Joseph enlisted the help of 32 fellow scouts to mark more than 600 water drains in Little Silver with the message, “No Dumping. Leads to River.” The project will help educate the public and remind them that illegal dumping degrades the waterways, the environment and ultimately our quality of life. Joseph was able to secure funding and cooperation from the Little Silver Environmental Commission. The project was accomplished over nine month’s time, including planning and preparation.
Joseph Perfetto is a member of RBR’s wrestling team and has worked on the school’s technology crew in staging its visual and performing art programs. He is a certified lifeguard and has worked as a camp counselor at the Quail Hill Cub Scout Camp in the summers and the local food market during the school year. He looks forward to attending Brookdale Community College after graduation.
